Led by Manara Developments, a leader in real estate within Bahrain, this ambitious seafront development project is strategically located near key logistic centers such as the Khalifa Bin Salman Port and Bahrain International Airport. The project’s second phase is a testament to its grand scale and ambition, spanning an impressive area of over 23 million square feet with a total projected area reaching 29 million square feet, and a valuation of BD100m (US$265m).

This development is a critical part of Bahrain’s strategy to diversify its economy beyond the oil sector by bolstering the GDP contributions of the industrial and manufacturing sectors. Upon completion, the Investment Gateway is expected to market 1,600 plots, building on the robust interest seen during its initial phase launched in 2016.
Role of Six Marine:
John Barnes took the helm as Project Director for this significant 210ha dredging and reclamation effort, which featured 6.1km of rock-armored edge protection structures. His responsibilities encompassed a wide array of critical tasks, including designing the reclamation platform, securing borrow area approvals, preparing and evaluating tender documents, contract administration, and overseeing the construction process. As the client’s engineer, John ensured that the project not only met its strategic goals but also adhered to the highest standards of efficiency and success.
